About Us
Happy Pace was born from a deep love of triathlon and the belief that the journey should feel as rewarding as the finish line.
Founded by Mardi Cuthbert an age group triathlete, coach, (and eternal hype person) - Happy Pace is built on the idea that training can be purposeful and enjoyable, no matter your starting point. I know what it’s like to juggle work, life, and training, and I’ve experienced firsthand how triathlon can transform not just your fitness, but your confidence, community, and sense of self.
Our coaching and programs are designed to meet you where you’re at - whether that’s your first triathlon, chasing a PB, or simply learning to love swimming. With practical guidance, personalised plans, and genuine support, we’ll help you train smarter, stay motivated, and find joy in the process.
Because when you find your happy pace, that’s where the magic happens ✨
Our Coaches
Mardi Cuthbert
Founder & Head Triathlon Coach
With over 10 years in the sport, Mardi has done 7 x 70.3s, represented Australia at both the ITU (Switzerland) and 70.3 (New Zealand) World Championships and in 2025 completed her first IRONMAN.
Mardi works full time in engineering, but triathlon is her passion and her happy place. Balancing career, training, and racing herself, she understands the realities of everyday athletes. Her coaching philosophy is grounded in helping people become strong, confident athletes (and even better humans) through purposeful, enjoyable training and genuine support.
Mardi has been a qualified AusTriathlon Coach since 2018 and is passionate about the transformative power of triathlon - not just for building fitness, but for the confidence, community, and joy it brings to life.
Christian Kovarik
Triathlon Coach
Christian started his triathlon journey at age 18, but it wasn't until he was 29 that he truly embraced the sport. Since then, he has won the 2XU Triathlon Series, completed three Ironmans, two 70.3s, and countless marathons and half marathons. His coaching experience spans from guiding athletes to their first Ironman finish to achieving sub-10-hour races and even qualifying for the Ironman World Championships.
Christian's passion for coaching stems from his personal experience. At one point, he weighed 110kg and couldn't run 5km without stopping. With determination and a solid plan, he completed his first Ironman within 12 months.
He is dedicated to helping athletes build confidence and demonstrating that anything is possible - particularly while balancing work and life.
