The Plan is our go-to training program for a Sprint, Olympic, or 70.3 triathlon. Whether you're tackling the distance for the first time or just want clear and structured workouts to follow, The Plan takes the guesswork out of training, helping you to progress your fitness, and achieve your triathlon goals.

Choose the distance that aligns with your goals:

  • Sprint Distance: 6 weeks | 750m swim, 20km ride, 5km run
    Ideal for those new to triathlon or looking to build a solid foundation.

  • Olympic Distance: 8 weeks | 1.5km swim, 40km ride, 10km run
    Perfect for athletes aiming to step up from Sprint distance or enhance their endurance.

  • 70.3 Distance: 10 weeks | 1.9km swim, 90km ride, 21.1km run
    Designed for those targeting a Half Ironman, with a focus on endurance and race-day preparation

Who is The Plan suitable for?

What are the Distance Options?

  • Sprint Distance - this program prepares you to do a 750m swim, 20km ride and 5km run.

    To complete this program you do not need to have done a triathlon before - but you should be able to swim 200m in a pool, ride for 30 minutes and run for 20 minutes.

  • Olympic Distance - this program prepares you for a 1.5km swim, 40km ride and 10km run

    To complete this program, we recommend you to have done a Sprint distance event, and to be able to swim 1km, ride for 45 minutes and run for 30 minutes.

  • 70.3 Distance - this program prepares to for a 1.9km swim, 90km ride, and 21.1km run

    To complete this program, we recommend you to have recently completed an Olympic distance event, or to be able to swim 1.5km, ride 40km and run 10km.
